Quote of the day

A word to describe 2011, Satisfying. This year is very eventful  and fruitful and I’m really content with the outcomes and accomplishments.

I’ve continued to hate work, haha but at least there is some direction now and it’s slightly more meaningful.

I’ve met many nice friends such as Cheryl, Royston, Ben, June through Fab,  really nice and fun people to hang out with. Meyy and Matus from my work to whom I can talk and complain too. Thanks for listening to my frustrations at work and sharing yours with me.

We’ve bought our apartment and it will be ready in 2014. Looking forward to it! Home sweet home. <(^.^)>

I’ve started jewellery design and I am totally loving it. For the coming year, I am going to focus on this and make it work out.

I’ve changed a new hairstyle, want to try another one this year.

I’ve gotten engaged this year (11/11/11). It was lovely and really sweet. ^^ Thanks everyone who made it such a memorable day for me.

My parents finally sold our house and now we are renting a bigger house. All of us love this new place as it is bigger than our old place and located at a more convenient location. However I do miss our old place, felt kind of empty and sad when we passed by the other day, after all we have lived there for more than 23 years. It was a reluctant feeling when we finally have to say goodbye and move into the new place.

As usual I did not complete all my resolutions for this year. =\

2011 Resolution:

#1) Spend More Time with Family & Friends
#2) Stay Fit AKA Lose Weight
#3) Learn Something New
#4) Get a Driving Licence
#5) Get Organized
#6) Discipline to Follow the Above Mentioned New Year Resolutions

Haha… I will have to keep #2 (especially for my big day), 4, 5 and 6 to try  to follow through again. =p I don’t think I’ll be adding any new ones.

Fab proposed to me on 11/11/11.

He told me that we were going to celebrate a friend’s birthday who had booked a villa at Capella. Little did I know that I would be on my way to becoming his fiancée.

Fab picked me up from work and we had a nice dinner at Shin Kushiya at VivoCity. As we were supposed to be at the villa only at 9pm, I decided to shop for accessories for my new handphone. I took my time to search and ended up buying a Tenderheart key chain for Fab. Why Tenderheart? A story for another day I suppose.

Unknown to me, he was actually panicking and wanted to hurry me up to be at the villa at 9pm however I took my time to window shop. We finally headed to the island and I did wonder why driving into Sentosa was free of charge, I even thought aloud if there was a promotion that day.

We parked the car and a buggy chartered us to the villa as it was some distance away. I did wonder why we didn’t have to ring the doorbell when we arrived and why the villa was so quiet when there were so many pairs of shoes at the door. I pushed the door and the room was dark and there were candles on the floor forming a path towards the sliding door across the entrance. I looked up and saw Eric snapping a picture. I turned back to Fab and asked him, “Who is this for?”.

Then I was led to the sliding door and I was able to see the words “Marry Me”  through the blinds, then did it struck me that this is for me. My special day.

The blinds were raised and at the same moment I realised there we have complimentary music, Grace the bassist and May the singer, singing “Stand By Me”. I stepped out of the door into the pool area and looked around to see his colleagues and friends around.

Fab knelt down and picked up the ring from the box which was lying on the float with the candles “Marry Me” and roses. I seriously didn’t remember what he said as I was too overwhelmed and when he finally popped the question, I asked him if I could consider the proposal.  He said I couldn’t and at that moment I knew what I wanted but it felt weird to say “yes”.

I automatically removed a ring from my  hand and held it up to him and said yes. I know.. It’s so unglamorous..

He put on the ring and we hugged each other, while someone release the party popper and lighted sparklers. Oh.. Did I mentioned that I was crying too.

Everyone was taking photos and we were hugging and receiving well wishes from them. It was a very sweet and memorable day.

We tried to clear up the place as it was a mess after Fab was being thrown into the pool, we gave up and called the hotel to get cleaners to clean up the place while we went out for dinner at Food Republic outside St James. Yes dinner again, everyone hadn’t eaten any dinner at all and I felt so sorry for them.

I really like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to make this day a special one for me and Fab. I love you guys! Muackz!

Btw I love my ring, the main stone is a colour changing sapphire, purple under yellow light and blue under white light. Isn’t it beautiful?

Quote of the day

Went to SHINee World with Mandy. I enjoyed it. Love their talent, singing and dancing was awesome. I fell  in love with Onew’s voice. It’s unique and soothing, I haven’t heard anyone who had a similar voice. =p

Anyway it was good, but Super Show 3 was much better in terms of stage effects. Felt that more effort is needed in directing this concert, if not everything else is nice.

Kinda bored with my hair style for a while now. Black, thin, flat, no volume. Yeah you get it.

Finally, after a few months of growing my hair to a good length and gathering my guts I went to the hair salon alone and decided to perm and colour my hair. Spent a great deal of time, having my hair washed, trimmed, permed, rinsed, coloured, rinsed again, trimmed and treated etc…

Yep.. It’s been a long time. Just completed one event last week. It’s been fruitful. I’m finally getting used to working here. A little more sense of direction, but it doesn’t mean I would like to stay here. Really doubt that I’ll have any future here, career development wise very minimal. =p

Ended my Korean classes, didn’t go on to the next class, but I do notice my improvement, I finally get to understand some bits of the dialogues in dramas and lyrics in songs. =)

Started my jewellery design course, It’s been really insightful thus far, been working on my assignment, may post some pictures once their done. I’ve made a simple pendent and ring so far. Really looking forward to class later. Only thing is, my sleep has been compromised, as I start work earlier to end work earlier to head to class, I’m always so sleepy at work. =|

Btw I’m going to SHINee World!! Haha.. Can’t wait for Sept 10!! *embarrassed for behaving like a fan girl

Me:  I saw the prices, and they are like $800++.

Attended a training course on Project Management, learn a couple of things which I found useful. Some in project management, mainly to be organised and others in life.

1. Know the roles people play in the team, define your objectives and tasks and work within your resources.
2. Being organised seemed to be a very important thing, project management skill can also be applied in your lives, setting a goal and working towards it. e.g. losing weight or retirement
3. Who are the mentors of successful people? Their parents-in-law.
   Important to marry the right persons to be successful in life and these people (Parents-in-law) might be your project sponsors while your spouse, kid and animals are playing a pay as your core team.
4. When you fall in love and married the one: You are complete.
   When you married the wrong one: You are finished.
   When you knowingly married the wrong one: You are completely finished.

Advertisements to recruit teachers are everywhere again. It was one of my dreams to be a teacher until Polytechnic days when I realised that I couldn’t speak in front of a group of people. I’ve become better these days but I’m still uncomfortable speaking to a huge group of people.

I enjoyed teaching, my stints as a tuition teacher and assistant teacher were very memorable and enjoyable. I feel satisfied after seeing my students understand a certain concept.

I’ve finally received the schedule for my course. By the way, I took up jewellery design. I would like to pursue in the line too if I am good in it, part time first before venturing into that full time.

And I have also applied for a job to be an acad staff, hmm.. I’m hoping to get it so I will have time to work on jewellery design as a part time.

So what should my next move be?
